Like a whiskey sour, with a twist
Honey. Lemon. Bourbon. It’s this trio of ingredients that lends the Gold Rush cocktail it’s signature sweet and sour taste. It’s essentially a whiskey sour, but made with honey instead of simple syrup. And though you might think such a small tweak wouldn’t make a difference when it comes to a flavor profile, it most definitely does. Give this classic a whirl with the recipe below.
The Gold Rush Cocktail Ingredients
- 2 oz. 1792 Bourbon
- 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz. honey (preferably organic and locally produced)
The Gold Rush Cocktail Directions
- Combine bourbon, lemon juice, and honey into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until cold. (Note: make sure to shake hard enough so that the honey dissolves)
- Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice
